Biotinoyl Tripeptide-1
aka Biotinoyl Tripeptide · Biotin-GHK · Biotinyl-GHK · Biotinoyl-Gly-His-Lys
Mechanism
Cosmetic tripeptide consisting of the matrikine GHK (glycyl-L-histidyl-L-lysine) conjugated to biotin (vitamin H/B7) at the N-terminus. Marketed for hair and scalp use, where it is claimed to anchor the hair shaft in the follicle, prolong the anagen growth phase, and support dermal-papilla and follicular matrix activity; GHK itself is associated with copper binding and stimulation of extracellular-matrix components such as collagen and laminin. It is a topical cosmetic ingredient, not an FDA-approved drug; supporting evidence is mostly in-vitro and manufacturer-sponsored rather than from controlled clinical trials.
Studied uses
- topical hair-growth / anti-hair-loss serums and shampoos
- eyelash and eyebrow conditioning products
- scalp and skin cosmetic conditioning
